Trying to do too many things at once is the number one way we get in our way. Missing appointments, not paying attention to details and showing up at the wrong time, in the wrong places. Not keeping track of 'To Do' lists and deadlines. Pulling all nighters trying to catch up. These are all the things we do because we've got too much on our plate and can't focus. We keep all the balls in the air because we're afraid we're going to miss out on something and that it will never come again. We're operating in a fear-based mode that keeps us frantically doing things not inline with our ultimate dream goals. Please post to dreaming, thedreamunlocked, writersroom The 21st Century's Killer Disease: Doing Too Much We're not inline because we're too afraid to Focus, Sit still, do nothing and find out exactly what we want. Instead we satisfy ourselves with bits and pieces of other peoples dreams that sound mildly interesting because somewhere deep inside, we believe the thing we want the most is not possible for us, so why bother focusing on it. Better to be a dabbler, a jack of all trades, to know a little about a lot instead of intensely successful and satisfied with our main interest which we're afraid is too small a dream or too impossible a dream. It's a fear-based way of living that will leave us with a sense of regret or empty satisfaction at the end of our lives because somewhere down the road we thought our dream was too selfish, too large or that we were ultimately not worthy of it. It's a way to avoid going after what we really want. We do it to say we tried even though we were not all together successful, but lack of focus guarantees failure. Ultimately we settle for too little, because we're afraid we're too much.
