just blocked someone (who i really) like bec i see a trend of chronic complaining about what a gross injustice it is that we’re spending so much time celebrating all the amazing things that are happening to black artists right now bec we’ve been fabulous all along and they’re mad that we’re just getting recognition...huh...???
whaaa... i cant i’m xhausted and speechless... how much anger and negativity can we as a people focus on instead of celebrating what is good which is the only way to make more goodness... i call this #blackdepression...it stems from the idea that nothing ever works out for us bec we’re black... and i’m sorry that is simply not true... slavery is over jim crow is over the civil rights movement won the klan was alive and well while a black family spent 2 terms in the white house a mere 150 years out of slavery (what society makes that kind of turnaround: from chattel to leader of the FREE world) the internet allows every single one of us to never work for a white man ever again and its absolutely FREE (as long as you’re willing to do the work of becoming completely self-reliant) black writers, playwrights, actors, filmmakers, storytellers, coaches are making millions of dollars telling their stories are they being paid by white america? some, yes but that’s a choice eventually folks will transition to self producing...but until then the fact remains that they are making millions of dollars...they are earning the power of the dollar... so next time u wanna complain abt how a white institution supported and funded by white people is treating black people while paying you $1000 per hour, instead of complaining, make your own shit, raise the money and find an audience to pay for it all u need is the fuckin internet and its free... working for white people who are signing the paycheck means playing by their rules and their rules are in place to satisfy their customers who buy tix and pay the rent...not u...its called capitalism ...if you dont like it...build ur own shit...that too is called capitalism which can be racist, pro-black, anti-women or pro-women ...whatever sells...and it aint personal... complaining about how the plantation is being run after you’ve bern given your freedom but still choose to work for the master is the most depressing kind of slavery there is... because ur choosing it... and you can’t dream break down walls build something new while complaining...
