![]() my friend Peggy Johnson gave me my first piece of african art and my first piece of furniture in my apartment when I was sitting on the floor...then she said, u too broke for furniture even ikea and u should wait to have the furniture u want, not what u can afford...dream it and it will appear...so i took pictures, made a dream board, and kept adding to it and sat on the floor of my apt for 3 years bereft of furniture, waiting, hoping, hustling and dreaming.......each piece has manifested just as Peggy said either for in recycling on the street, free or for a pittance of what each piece actually cost...from my morrocan furniture, to my art deco dresser, wrought iron bistro deck table, handmade mosaic table....it's pretty incredible... My neighbor was selling his house and getting rid of antique furniture in his brownstone from the 40's...my landlord says to him, "my girl needs that table and that dresser" and everyone does what she says......this morning, my neighbor knocked on my door with an antique cherry wood dresser, a mango wood dining table and 4 chairs and an aviator desk...WTF...for free... I put a few other things on that dream board...I'm learning to patiently wait for them as well.... #loveharlembrownstonepeople #lovemybosslady
