I'm learning to move towards what honors me and removing myself from what doesn't. It is in the very moment that you figure out what you deserve that everyone around you starts chastising you and advising you that you're being "shortsighted" when actually what's happening is you're growing limitless and the person criticizing you is committed to you being limited. Remember that next time someone tells you what you 'should' be doing. _Fuck them and fuck limits._ When you know what you deserve, you get it and more. When you are unclear about your worth, every decisions, every action feels like a stressful jumping through hoops just to get someone to recognize your worth. Stop hustling for your worth. Stop auditioning for a life you deserve. ---------- Get it by setting a boundary that you will accept nothing less than (insert boundary). And let others figure out what they have to do to meet your expectations and if they don't, guess what? You dodged a bullet. You dodged someone who is going to fight you, small change you, argue with you at every turn because they got you for less than you deserve because you didn't name what your time is worth. Name it and accept nothing less. I'm not getting out of bed for anyone for less than $10K. Write down your dreams, write down a timeline, write down how much it will cost to get your dreams done, write down how many hours per week you want to work. Then divide up your budget into those hours to figure out what your hourly rate needs to be for the next year. Mine is $750 per hour. What's yours? Guess what, the minute I asked for it (although I was shaky), not only did I get it, but I got several offers for my time at that rate. See I've done the work, built the foundation, I have a track record, content, books, online courses, a lifetime of hard earned wisdom and expensive ass training that I've built into a structure for people to access on my terms. Now folks have to cough up that $750 per hour to access all that expensive knowledge. We always focus on people who won't pay us what we deserve so we never get paid. Focus on the ones who do give you what you deserve without question because that means they actually trust and value you. ---------- When you were working for a $150 per hour, you needed to convince 6 different people to pay you for one hour. **When you decide you need $750 per hour, you only need to convince one and that one person is now loyal, committed to you and ready to do the work because they actually value you.** See how that shit works. Am I rich? Hardly. Am I comfortable? Very. Do I have FREEDOM? Absolutely. Do I work only when I want to work instead of when I HAVE to work. You bet and it ain't no 40 hour work week anything... When you give people a goal to meet in order to get access to you, you simplify you life (you miss low cost job opportunities) and you gain the time to implement goals, jobs, books, dream, travel that is inline with your dreams. So, those people who wouldn't pay you, don't matter. After taxes, fees, prep time, all the hustle with getting a client to pay you, they weren't going to pay you much anyway... Think about your lead time before an audition: how many hours of prep, how many coaches or self-tapes did you do to get that job, travel time to auditions. Now add up how many hours that was. Add that to the time, you work on the actual job. Figure out how much you made. Now deduct 20% for Uncle Sam, 10% for your agent, 15% for your manager and how much money are you making. Take that total figure and divide it by how many hours you worked. That's how much you're making per hour. So if you're exhausted and still struggling financially, it's because you are devaluing your time. And I never want to hear the argument about you have to be visible, so take jobs where you barely break even. Once you have NYTimes reviews, tons of credits under your belt, you don't need that shit. You just need to build an online presence for people to find you. That's it. Stop drinking the koolaide and constantly hustling to prove your worth over and over again. You establish your worth, not someone else. No one gets to tell you how much money you should be making (that's called slavery). You do... Folks are hustling their ideas on instagram and utube and getting paid $6000 per post. Why are you still devaluing what you have to offer? Why are you listening to an industry committed to getting you to work for as little as possible so they can meet their bottom line and pay the exhausted 14 hour per day start $350K per episode and you less than your daily quote? Somebody is getting paid on every single project, job or gig you accept and if it ain't you, then that's a problem. When you accept nothing less than what you deserve, you get ease, financial stability, you work smarter, not harder while all those naysayers are content to keep exhausting themselves in their own endeavors which is exactly why they can't understand why you've moved past their dreams for you and for themselves. When you are honoring your purpose and your worth, shit just comes to you without you doing a goddamn thing. **Because you're being honored for a lifetime of hardwork instead of auditioning to prove your worth daily.** It's mindset followed by a lifestyle switch that I'm committed to teaching in my DreamingOutLoud Technique.
