"You gotta resurrect the deep pain within you and give it a place to live that’s not within your body. Let it live in art. Let it live in writing. Let it live in music. Let it be devoured by building brighter connections. Your body is not a coffin for pain to be buried in. Put it somewhere else" -Ehime Ora therapy is the most important place for this to begin...write it down, process the story with a doctor. many artists just relive their pain repeatedly in storytelling; that's soul killing, not healing. The Roshamon Effect is how I learned to heal and write. I learned how to tell the same story from each character's POV. I learned to value my story and be compassionate w/myself in therapy. I took that lesson a step further in my writing and learned how to be compassionate with my characters and give them a fully realized life. The job of the storyteller is become an acrobat and healer of the human condition.
